The Diary of a Young Girl: The Definitive Edition by Anne Frank
Afternoon Session: Tuesday, January 28 • 1:00-2:00 PM
Evening Session: Thursday, January 9 • 7:00-8:00 PM
Many of us are familiar with this powerful account, written by 13-year-old Anne Frank as she hid with her family during the Holocaust. This edition, however, has faced bans and challenges in schools for its candid portrayal of Anne’s thoughts, including topics related to adolescence and human sexuality. Despite its historical and educational significance, the book continues to be contested, sparking important discussions about censorship and the preservation of authentic voices in literature.
This program is presented in partnership with the Milwaukee Jewish Federation.
