Book of the Month: MAUS by Art Spiegelman

Hailed as one of the most powerful graphic novels ever written, MAUS recounts the harrowing experiences of author Art Spiegelman’s father, a Holocaust survivor, using a haunting blend of visual storytelling and memoir. With Jews depicted as mice and Nazis as cats, this tale within a tale explores themes of survival, the complexities of trauma, and the strained bond between a father and son.

Join the JCC and Michael Morris of HERC for an in-depth discussion on MAUS as both a historical testament and artistic achievement, reflecting on its lasting impact and the importance of preserving stories like these for future generations.
