Kids Center Adventure Camps - BEST.SUMMER.EVER.

May 27, 2014

By Deb Carneol, Social Media Coordinator

In preparation for the BEST.SUMMER.EVER. I had the opportunity to sit down with our JCC Summer Day Camp Directors to find out what they are doing to get ready for camp, what their favorite part about camp is and more! Check out Shoshanah Bruesewitz's, Kids Center Adventure Camp Director, answers below.

What are you doing to get ready for camp?

I have been so busy preparing for camp this summer. I have been scheduling field trips, planning cooking projects and getting in touch with last year's campers to make sure they are signing up for the BEST.SUMMER.EVER!

What is new at camp this summer?

One thing that is new this summer is our Camp t-shirts. I have picked out really cool white T shirts and each camper will get to tie dye their own shirt however they choose.

Did you ever go to camp as a child? If so, what was your favorite childhood camp memory?

When I was a camper I spent 9 amazing summer in Eagle River at Camp Interlaken JCC. I have very fond memories of learning how to water ski on Lake Finley and practicing dances with my cabin for the camp talent show. As a younger camper I also spent 3 summers at JCC Rainbow Day Camp (RDC), my fondest memories are of sitting on the bus on our way to and from RDC with my best friend Cortney and the whole ride we would sing songs and do hand clapping routines. Then as we pulled into the RDC gates, the whole bus would sing at the top of our lungs “Three cheers for our driver...”

What is your favorite part of Kids Center Adventure Camps?

My favorite part of Kids Center Adventure Camps is the field trips. I love seeing the excited look on camper’s faces when we pull up to a place they have never been before like Possibility Playground in Port Washington or the Terre Andre State Park dunes they see it for the first time. Other places we plan to go to camp this summer are the Cedarburg and Port Washington Waterparks, Fox Brook Park, Terre Andre State Park, Schlitz’s Audubon Nature Center, Lynden Sculpture Gardens and much more.

If you could pick 3 words to describe Kids Center Adventure Camps, what would they be?

Friendship - Variety - Sunshine

Why Kids Center Adventure Camps?

Kids Center Adventure Camps are an excellent choice for your child’s BEST.SUMMER.EVER. Kids Center camps allow your child to get a little taste of everything the JCC has to offer in the summer. Each week your child will spend one day at JCC Rainbow Day Camp, the JCC Water Park, and get to spend time at the JCC campus in Whitefish Bay participating in cooking, art, sports and other games. On top of all that, the campers go on many field trips each week to local area destinations like parks, community water parks, gardens and much more. There is never a dull moment at Kids Center Adventure Camp as every day is completely different than the day before.
