Jewish Community Pantry
The Jewish Community Pantry, an effort co-sponsored by the JCC and the Women’s Philanthropy of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, seeks to provide emergency food to individuals and families in crisis throughout the greater Milwaukee community. With a focus on connecting clients to community resources, and increasing our community’s awareness of hunger’s impact while educating on how we can alleviate that impact, the pantry is our Jewish communal response to hunger in Milwaukee. The Jewish Community Pantry reflects our commitment to the values of Tzedakah (justice) and Tikkun Olam (repair the world) and to serving community members in need of Kavod (respect.)
Located at 2900 West Center Street (Northwest corner on 29th St.), the Jewish Community Pantry is open each Thursday from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm, and the 3rd & 4th Sunday of each month from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Clients are served on a first come, first served basis. The pantry maintains a general food section, infant section, and a Kosher section. Identification is required for all visits.
The Jewish Community Pantry accepts donated items including both kosher and non-kosher food items to distribute to our clients.
This is a recommended list for your convenience: Cans of Tuna, Cans of Salmon, Gefilte Fish, Mac n Cheese, Jelly, Rice, Crackers, Pasta, Spaghetti Sauce, Cans of Beef Stew, Diapers, Paper Products: toilet paper, paper towel, kleenex, bars of soap, and Feminine Hygiene Products.
