Jewish Community Pantry: High Holiday Food Drive

By JCC Milwaukee September 3, 2024

As we approach the High Holidays, we have an opportunity to come together and support those in need within our community. The Jewish Community Pantry is launching its annual High Holidays Food Drive, running from September 12 through October 12. This year, more than ever, we’re calling on your generosity to help us ensure that no one goes without the essentials.

Preferred Non-Perishable Food Items:

While non-perishable food items are a cornerstone of our pantry, our guests have a range of needs beyond food. This year, we’re also seeking donations of:

During the High Holidays, we’re reminded of our shared responsibility to care for one another. In the spirit of tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (repairing the world), your contributions to the Pantry make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity and financial hardship.

The Jewish Community Pantry is a vital resource for many individuals and families, ensuring they have access to essential items that can make a world of difference in their daily lives. Every item donated to the Pantry brings us closer to a stronger, more supportive community.

From September 12-October 12, bring your donations to the drop-off bins located at the Peck (North) entrance, the Marcus Pavilion (West) entrance, the Gan Ami Whitefish Bay Soref (South) entrance, or the Gan Ami Mequon entrance.

Participating synagogues are will also collect donations during high holiday services: Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid, Congregation Emanuel B’ne Jeshurun, Congregation Shalom, and Congregation Sinai.

Thank you for your continued support and generosity!
