Parkinson's Treadmill and Strength Session I

Mon, Thu 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
This exercise class is geared towards individuals with Parkinson Disease (PD) and is led by a physical therapist and personal trainer. The hour-long class is split into two half-hour sessions. 30 minutes are spent walking on a treadmill (sometimes backwards) and 30 minutes working on strength and flexibility with a focus on trunk mobility. The theory behind this program is that improved trunk mobility combined with an aerobic conditioning program should lead to improvement of functional activities used in everyday life. Clients in all stages of the disease are welcome, as well as new participants.

This dance class, originally designed for people in the Parkinson's community, is open to anyone seeking lifelong comfort and ease in their body movements. Feel better; function more efficiently and enjoy life more fully! Feel the beat of varied music as you improve coordination, balance and posture. Regain confidence in your body. Discover your creativity in motion. All abilities and fitness levels are welcome. Options include dancing in a chair, standing and moving across the floor. Stay young at heart while being with others who are dancing through life! First class is Friday, Januray 9th.
